Welcome to Peaceful Heart Acupuncture in Tacoma, Washington!

The office is open again for acupuncture services!

Acupuncture is considered an essential health service by Governor Inslee. Even though the Stay at Home/Stay Safe proclamation is in place through May 31st we know that after several weeks we could all use treatment to reduce the headaches, the neck and back pain, other aches and pains brought on by gardening and yard work, working from home, not working, as well as the stress, anxiety, frustration, depression and insomnia we may be experiencing. We assure you we are following recommended CDC and Washington Department of Health safety guidelines; however, there is no method to completely remove the risk of person-to-person transmission of Covid-19 in an in-person care setting. Wearing a mask is required before you enter the office.

TeleHealth is also available. Some insurances are covering it as part of your annual acupuncture benefits. No needles! We can go over your health concerns and find solutions for you. This includes but is not limited to discussing diet and lifestyle options; recommendations for nutritional supplements, Chinese Herbal formulas and essential oils. Acu point prescriptions, complete with diagrams, can be used with acupressure, essential oils, magnets, intradermal tacks or Lifewave pain patches. Practicing breathing techniques can significantly reduce pain,  calm the mind and help you sleep.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns. I am here to support you!

Online scheduling is available for in-person appointments. Please call or text to schedule TeleHealth appointments.

Acupuncture is an effective form of medical treatment that has evolved into a complete holistic health care system. Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used their skills for millennia to help people become well and stay well.

Acupuncture promotes natural healing in the body. It can reduce pain, stress, and anxiety; improve sleep and digestion, enhance immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

Jody is a caring and compassionate practitioner who will take the time to listen to you and provide the quality of care that you often do not get from your other health care providers. Acupuncturists have many tools available to engage your body’s natural healing response. Besides acupuncture she often uses cupping or gua sha or moxibustion or electrical stimulation applied to the pins as well as heat therapy in the treatment. She has also received advanced training on using therapeutic essential oils in the treatment of mental and emotional conditions. In 2019, Jody completed training in Point Injection Therapy where homeopathic substances such as Traumeel and Zeel are injected into acupuncture points and trigger points to reduce acute and chronic pain. Jody is a Level Two Healing Touch Practitioner and may also incorporate that into a session.

If you have any questions about whether acupuncture is right for you please call 206-293-2774 for a complimentary 15 consultation.  We look forward to seeing you soon!
